Roberto CSD Community,

We know many of you have been wondering about the construction on the high school and our capital project that was started during the summer of the 2022-2023 school year. Many of you have concerns about the work that will be done to the school building itself, and how it will effect next year's activities. Furthermore, concerns have been growing that the project has been stalling, but we wanted to address these concerns as quickly as possible.

To start, construction will resume as soon as the rainy weather goes away. Unfortunately, work can't be done during rainy weather as of New Shire State Health and Safety regulations and laws. Rain, Thunder and Lightning are expected to dominate the skies over New Shire over this summer. Our contractors have been working tirelessly to ensure a moderate amount of construction can get done before the beginning of school in September. Construction has not stalled, it is just delayed for weather reasons. 

Secondly, we have received complaints about the noise construction gave off last summer, and unfortunately, there is not much we can do. As part of any construction project, machinery is used to help quicken the construction process, so there is not much we are able to do other than limit hours of work that the project can be worked in. We have tried to schedule work around quiet times(including bedtime, and early in the morning.) Our district had established a 9AM-5PM construction time frame and we are continuously working to ensure minimal distraction or noise pollution is experienced for residents who live around the high school

Lastly, we expect work to carry on during the school year, with major roofing, and other major work to be done during the summer. Our contractors say that the project should be done by the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Work is likely to carry on into the school year, with very minimal distraction to student learning expected.
